The Grace of Siddha – 74 – A new episode begins!

[stextbox id=”info” image=”null”]The Grace of Siddha series can be read here.[/stextbox]

Siddha AgastyaHe is ever active, ever merciful and pours love to those who take refuge at Him. GnanaBoomi is humbled to present the Sitthan Arul series in English for its readers. See for yourself if any of these incidents relates to you, if it has any message to you or, if it gives a whole new perception about anything for which you may be looking for an answer. It is indeed true, if you believe in the Siddha Agastya, He is there for you!

“He” is someone with a number of searches within. Even from the conversation between total strangers, he listens to the ‘message’ in it and begins his quest. With an intense burning to accumulate spiritual experience by visiting temples that are worshipped by our ancestors, that he believes existing to this date, temples which are located in places where the very smell of human is not felt!

When he heard the phrases ‘hill top’, ‘Shrine of Lord Shiva’ etc., he began his quest and informed his good friend, who accompanies him in visiting these places, wherever it may be, that “begin your search, let it be wherever, we shall go’. His friend, oh, he is really blessed by Lord Shiva. One day, while he was at his business, a person came and spoke about a hilltop temple of Lord Shiva, some 30 kilometers from his place. He stopped what he was doing, came home and told his mother that he has to go out of station and set forth his quest, without even informing ‘him’.

‘He’ was wondering where his friend went for about four to five days. When the friend came back and narrated him the details, ‘he’ was taken aback. He even thought that the temple that ‘he’ was searching could be just this.

But he did feel that something is not matching, and still, decided to go there and told his friend, “let us both go there the coming Amavasya, please park all your work”.

For ‘he’ does not know that the Lord residing in that hilltop, Maheshwara, is going to collect all ‘his’ debts, with interest and that ‘his’ life is going to be changed upside down (for the good).

Prior to the Amavasya day, before setting forth, ‘he’ said, “O Lord! ‘This’ is starting, having faith in You. Be with and help’ and started with ‘his’ friend. Three of the friends’ friends joined too, which formed as a small group.

It was very crowded at the base of the hill as Amavasya is very special to the preceding deity on the hill. The crowd was such that one has to rub shoulders with others while moving. As ‘he’ did not expect that much of the crowd in his way up, he became tired soon. The friend said, ‘do not lose the track, just follow this’ and proceeded.

He just could not walk beyond a point and thought of taking rest for a while, just then someone said, ‘O Sire, do not sit, just keep walking for if you do, the pain will be more’ and put an end to his decision to sit. Let whatever be, he thought, sat down and then thought about the landmarks he obtained about that temple and compared it with this. None of them matched, he figured and realized that the temple of his quest is not this. But, ‘we’ve come thus far, don’t know how far to go still, above all, for all these task, let us go have the darshan of the Lord even amidst difficulty. He then reached the hilltop in about 6 hours. Once reached, he felt all the energy from his body had drained. He mentioned to his friend that he needs to take bath first and then they can go for darshan.

His friend checked around and found a place. They all took bath and went to the temple. As it was in the evening around 6 PM, there weren’t any crowd.

His friend said, “This is the temple I mentioned. Have darshan.”

The place his friend has taken him was ‘Chathuragiri Sundara Mahalingam’ temple. This, is not the place of his quest but…he forgot himself in the divine, mystic appearance of the Lord, without knowing that there is a big plan being set at him. All that happened in the following night changed his mind greatly as well. When they had the darshan of the Lord again the following morning and came out, he heard the temple bell from a distance.

‘Is there another temple here?’ – he asked his friend who took him to another shrine nearby, another Shiva temple.

I heard about only one temple, but here seems two, he thought.

His good friend figured his thought and said, “This is not the place you searched for, but nevertheless, we are experiencing a lot of divinity within here. The Lord in this shrine is called ‘Sandana Mahalingam’. This shrine has affected me so very much and I can really feel a cool spreading within me. Why not? This place shall well be the solace for us”.

That which was searched for wasn’t obtained, but let us accept the one which is obtained, he thought and offered his sincere prayers to Sandana Mahalingam. Somewhere, as if the air which was waiting for the precise moment, blew away the holy vibhuthi (bhasm) out of which, a few got smeared in ‘his’ head. That marked the beginning.

Mahalingam began to roll the dice. The Chathuranga began, with new episodes!

The Grace of Siddha – 73 – The aftermath

[stextbox id=”info” image=”null”]The Grace of Siddha series can be read here.[/stextbox]

Siddha AgastyaHe is ever active, ever merciful and pours love to those who take refuge at Him. GnanaBoomi is humbled to present the Sitthan Arul series in English for its readers. See for yourself if any of these incidents relates to you, if it has any message to you or, if it gives a whole new perception about anything for which you may be looking for an answer. It is indeed true, if you believe in the Siddha Agastya, He is there for you!

On matters that happen through the grace of Siddha Agastya, He and the Almighty only know how far is His struggle to get forgiveness for the mistakes of mankind. In certain incidents, somethings will be hidden from being said in the Nãdi, somethings will be said in a subtle manner. The reason why He does all these is only to free humans from the difficulties. It is their individual Karma which makes them do the mistakes.

Once I started sharing the details of the hilltop temple, many started asking the whereabouts of it. I had an intuition that there is something wrong in the way they ask for it and so I avoided to say the name of the village where the temple is. Out of some urge, they shouldn’t risk going there, staying in the hilltop in the night etc. I also started avoiding the name Erode. I also have seen a few who obtained a very blissful state after hearing these incidents.

The people, are of different kinds. There were many angles in which they perceive when something is said. I began to categorize the types of people.

Those who perceived in the spiritual sense. By hearing the incident, they feel blissful and hence, satisfied.

Those who want to have an experience of the divine play of the Siddhas.

Those who want to visit such a temple. But since there weren’t enough information available, they began to search for themselves. These are one, and the second are, whose ego is provoked due to insufficient information provided. Why not we try? Let’s see if God’s grace is there in us or not, and get in to self-test. This is another category.

These fourth category is a little dangerous. They may get in to trouble. If they test themselves, God provides them enough experience to validate the test but the results will be good. In such incidents, the grace, the divine play of Siddha, safety, all are ensured. But one should not think that even if one commits a mistake knowingly, the Siddhas might help.

Whatever one does, if they do it with the attitude of “this is your order, I am just a equipment to have this done, the results is yours. I haven’t done anything” and so on, the grace of the Siddhas can be felt even in the minute of things, very very clearly.

Just so, I happened to meet a person in a function. I mentioned a number of things about the hill temple but was careful enough not to mention about the place, whereabouts, way to reach etc. I however did not realize that “he” is observing everything without saying a word. Just like everyone, when I completed, he asked, “Where is this temple?”

“I have decided not to say anything about it”

“Ok. Thanks for saying thus far” – he bid farewell.

I was surprised. Normally when such things were shared, the others will be listening to it with wonder. Their focus will only be on hearing more of it or will ask so many questions. But this fellow did not show any expression in his face. He just asked one question and when I declined to provide any information, he just said ok and went off.

I thought that he was just interested in knowing about these things. I never met him again for a few years. I was reading Nadi for those who had come when two of his friends came and said that ‘he’ could not come and that he wanted to know a few things from Sage Agastya and requested me to get those answers.

“Ok, please have your seat. Once I finish reading to those who have come before you, I shall read it for ‘him'”.

Due to ‘his’ time probably, when I finished reading for those who had come, it was 9 in the night. I began to read the Nadi. What all He said was shocking, one after the other.

The Grace of Siddha – 72 – Sarpam Eviya Sadayan!

The title literally means, Snake sent by Shiva, in Tamil. The title
occurred in a flash and we liked it :).

During my stay in this hill top for three days, I did not see any snake. But now I saw this one, about eight feet long, a black cobra. I wasn’t able to understand if this snake is searching for food, or had it already. If it is searching for food, it will bounce back to anyone who comes on its way. Then it will run away to its hiding place faster. A misconception about snake is that every one thinks it is a fierce animal, but in fact, it is scared of others, particularly humans. This has been confirmed by a Siddha as well.

If the snake had had its food, it will move slow and steady to its place or a hideout that is cool. Normally, it does not do any harm I have heard. If in case it comes towards me, I could climb up on the place to sit near the temple, or drive it away with a stick or something. But this one is going towards this guy who is fast asleep! I was scared, if only he turns around and touches the snake, that’s it! It will bite him, I started imagining.

On an instance, when I asked Sage Agastya if we can cure the snake bites by chanting a mantra, He said “It is possible” and He kindly gave me that mantra as well. Not only that, he gave suitable mantras for a few other poisonous creatures too.

If these mantras are to give any result, there are certain ground rules that must be followed consistently. If it isn’t possible to adhere to them, the mantras won’t have any effect. Then there is no use in blaming Agastya Muni and so as He said, I began to follow those ground rules first.

One of them in it is to stand in knee-deep water on a Grahana (Eclipse) day and to chant specific mantras without any gap. But was not able to continue to this on a consistent basis. I was doubtful if this cobra bites him and if I chant a mantra, anything could be beneficial at all. I have not got the chance and blessing for chanting any mantra for any such poisonous bites. Is such an incident going to happen now where Agastya Muni has summoned me here? In the meantime, the snake crawled on his side and went up to his hip, looked around well for some time. Then it steeped
down towards his stomach, went straight to the temple and went inside the Garbha Gruha through the small gap in the door and disappeared.

I gave a sigh of relief. The snake could have gone straight in. But why did it climb upon him, got down and went inside? This fellow was sleeping, blissfully unaware of anything that happened. I woke him up. He did not expect me there at all. He was surprised and felt very happy. I mentioned about the ‘visit’ of the cobra. He was so happy. He informed that he is continuing to lit the lamp regularly.

I bid farewell to the villagers and Karnam while a car came. One of the inmates was a Malayali and rest were Tamilians. All having the appearance of villagers.

“May we know who is the chief of this village?” – asked one.

“It is that house, but he is not around.”

“When will he come?”

“Can’t say. It may be two or three days. Who are you? I am the Karnam of this village. You may ask me on anything you want to know”

“We would like to talk to you in private”

“Come here, let’s sit here and talk”. He asked the umbrella guy to fetch some cool drinks to these people.

“We, belong to the Ramayanpatti Jameen family. After the birth of our heir, somebody kidnapped that child desiring the wealth associated. Then there wasn’t any information about that child. We dropped our search after a while. Only before one and a half month, one of those relatives had written a letter where he mentioned that he left the child in a platform in Erode and ran away and that the child is still alive in this area. He also apologized profusely for the mistakes they committed and that the Almighty has given them the deserved punishment. Now the Jameen does not have its heir. The zameendar mentioned in his will to search for the child and to throne him as the next Jameendar and if it was not possible, all his wealth is to be given away to Thirupathi temple or to the Government and he passed away.”

“We came to know only after ten days that he has written such a will, through his advocate. It is on the same day that we received that letter, mentioning about the child. We thought of this as a good omen and began our search again in areas of Erode, Salem, Thirupoor etc. We searched orphanages, checked with Christian Father, to those running hotels, to the police, everywhere. They all said they cannot help if we do not have any
physical feature as an aid for idenficiation”.

The person who explained all these appeared very gigantic and it was clear he was close to the Jameendar. I was very thrilled to know all these, but never expressed anything. The Karnam invited me nearby to take part in this conversation.

The huge man continued…

“See this man here, he belongs to Ernakulam, Kerala and is a very big astrologer. He is an expert in Maha Prasnam (an astrological art where they ask questions in different methods and they receive the answer intuitively from the preceding deity). He came to our place where we asked in the Angala Parameshwari Temple through Prasnam. If he says something, then we will search for the boy and make him the next Jameendar, or else, we will do the ritual of Flower (a child is asked to choose between two colored flowers, with each flower representing one decision, as children are considered as equivalent to God in purity. Whatever flower the child
chooses, the related decision is taken as a word straight from God) and give away all the wealth either to Thirupathi temple or to the Government. We decided this in front of all the people.”

“He came. Did the Prasnam. It came that the heir of this zameen is still alive, he is somewhere about 50 mile distance from Erode, that he stammers when he speaks and he is living in a small hut in the mercy of the villagers. We were so pleased at what came out of Prasnam. But still, we took him along with us and were searching in the nearby villages. We just came to know that such a person lives here in your village. If whatever we say turns out to be true, and if you permit, please show us that man. We will provide all the necessary details you may want” – said he!

I looked at the Karnam.

“All you said is correct. That boy is right here. Are you truly associated to the Zameen. On what basis will I send that boy along with you, I am confused. Also, I cannot take this decision alone. I have to consult with the village chief, the police etc because, there should not be any issues in the future, you see?” – said the Karnam. But this group desperately wanted to take the boy along with them and mentioned that they will bring the village chief from wherever he is, the police and advocate from Erode. I did not understand the logic behind their urgency. The Karnam looked at

“I cannot interfere in this directly. Check your rules and guidelines and move accordingly, but with patience” – I said and asked him to bid farewell to me since it was getting late. But the Karnam would’nt let me go.

In a short while, a village boy came and said that the umbrella guy (the heir) was running helter-skelter in the highway that leads to Erode and the reason is not known. The Karnam did not take it seriously but I felt some trouble is brewing. I waited there for a few hours and came back.

On a Brahma Muhurtha day after Ashtami and Navami thithi passed, I asked the Maha Muni about that boy. This is what He said:

The cart-man wanted to possess all the Zameen’s wealth. So he decided that he will push the original heir from the mountain. He set forth with his plan where a black cobra appeared and threatened the cart-man. He got scared of the snake and he jumped off the cliff and broke a few bones. The villagers got him admitted to the Puthur hospital.

The snake was sent by none other than Lord Shiva! In order to save his devotee, He did this divine play. From then on, that black cobra is protecting this boy, living in the same mountain. It is the same cobra that you had seen as well. This boy got scared that someone will kidnap him. Especially when he silently over-heard the people taking his name, advocate, police etc., he dropped all the cool drinks and ran like mad, got hold of a train to Erode.

A Sannyasin (monk) who traveled in the same train approached him, inquired about him and have instructed his assistant to help this guy. The day in which he will become the zameendar of Ramayyan Patti Zameen is not far away. The Sannyasin himself will help him for that” – The Maha Siddha summarized his story.

I gave out a sigh of relief.

I was busy then for three months where I had almost forgotten about him. I then met the Karnam and the village chief in Kandasramam in Salem, they mentioned that he has become the zameendar of Ramayyan Patti Zameen and is now possesses a few crores and that his lifestyle has totally changed.

I thanked the Maha Muni. There are many a hundred incidents such as this and our humble intention is to present them here. If Agastya Muni is excited, He orchestrates many such miracles. Otherwise, He will test those who has come to receive the Nadi reading, but the end result will be remarkable!

The Grace of Siddha – 71 – The Practical World & Spiritual World

[stextbox id=”info” image=”null”]The Grace of Siddha series can be read here.[/stextbox]

Siddha AgastyaHe is ever active, ever merciful and pours love to those who take refuge at Him. GnanaBoomi is humbled to present the Sitthan Arul series in English for its readers. See for yourself if any of these incidents relates to you, if it has any message to you or, if it gives a whole new perception about anything for which you may be looking for an answer. It is indeed true, if you believe in the Siddha Agastya, He is there for you!

I thought I should have cherished the experience I got from the hill top temple and returned home quietly. But fate is stronger right? Instead of remaining quiet, I began to read the Nadi for this person who stood with the umbrella and ended up receiving advise from the ‘well wisher’ cart-man.

Once the Erode railway station came, I took some money I had with me and gave it to the poor millionaire saying “Here, with this, get flowers, turmeric, fruits, beetle-nut, incense stick, kumkum etc., along with some oil to lit up the lamp and the string. Hand them over to the priest to do an archana and start lighting up the lamp in the Garbha-gruha. Continue to do this for forty days somehow, anyhow. Good will happen”. He prostrated at my feet, accepted the money and said, “But they won’t allow me inside the garbha-gruha right?”

“No need. Hand over the lamp to the priest. On your behalf, let him lit up the lamp inside”

The cart-man said, “Sir, I don’t think these are practically possible. It is ok if it is for a day or two, but how come forty days?”

I thought, is this guy a cart-man or a villain to this poor fellow? He is going on talking negative. What is his problem? It’s just a lamp to be lit in the temple right? I was a little frustrated. I turned towards him and said, “What are you saying? Can you elaborate?”

“Sir, he is a person who is sort of dedicated to this village as a whole. There isn’t a marriage or anything for him. If there is a death in a house, he has to go there and should remain till every ritual is completed. Likewise, if there is a marriage in a house, he has to do all the work. To say the least, the lady who gave birth to me, is counting her days as to today or tomorrow, she is sick. If she dies, this guy cannot move here or there till the sixteenth day ritual is over and should remain in my house. There are about two or three such ‘tickets’ waiting to go. He is required for all the work. I thought of all these and hence I mentioned so” – he was very determined.

“Oh, is there such a practice?”

The poor guy nodded helplessly. I was very embarrassed.

“Hey cart-man, listen. Till he finishes lighting up the lamp for forty
days, nothing would ever happen to anyone in the village. Why don’t you help him accomplish this task?” – I asked.

“Sir, you said he is going to be very rich. Let it happen when it happens. I am not jealous as I have about ten acres of land for myself along with some land from my mother-in-law. I shall make arrangements for him to lit the lamp, no problem. But I have to tell you the practice of the village right? That’s why I said all these”

“It is only Agastya Muni who should stop all these. Nothing is in our
hands” – I said this and started moving inside the railway station. I
heard someone calling me so I looked back. It was the cart-man himself.

“I have a small doubt sir. Can I lit up the lamp instead of this fellow?”

“No. Agastya Siddha has asked him to do it. It is him whom the Siddha mentioned as a heir of zameendar”

“What sir? Shouldn’t there be a ‘qualification’ to be called as the heir of a zameendar. Does this fellow possess any such?”

“What are you trying to say?”

“Like…if I lit up the lamp instead of him, will I get the zameen
property? Myself and him are almost of the same age. That’s why I asked” – he said without any hesitation. I was shocked at this. Such a person, even in a village! I was scared as to where these will end up. I started walking towards the platform without answering him.

Though I came back to Chennai, I kept on thinking about the umbrella guy. Just as the cart-man said, there are no identification for him. Even the parents wouldn’t identify him as their son. Those who brought him up are no more. There is no information on who kidnapped him during the childhood. Agastya Muni says he is the zameendar. But He did not say which zameen. Will he really become the zameendar?” – I began to doubt.

From the time I began to read the Jeeva Nadi, many such doubts arise in me. From my experience, I have realized that it is somewhat easy to manage an atheist, but it is extremely difficult to manage a person who has faith in spirituality. Am I a spiritualist or an atheist or somewhere in between? I used to test myself. But I cannot talk rationalism while holding on to Jeeva Nadi. But I would want anything to happen at once. But for many who has come for the reading, He says “have some patience, wait” etc. This not only makes the person came for reading to be frustrated, but even me at times!

But there will always be a reason. It will be known only later. This is a deva rahasya not many know. If I think of the cart-man, he can easily cheat the umbrella guy. But I shall ask the Maha Siddha, I thought and felt relieved.

Thirty five days passed by. If I ask Agastya on the umbrella guy, He would only say “Have some patience. That King of the Hill (Lord Shiva) will take care of him” and nothing else. I was however curious and thought I shall visit there myself. So I started on the thirty eighth day.

I met the Karnam who received me eagerly.

“Is everyone good in the village?”

“Yes, all are well”

“That day, a cart-man came along with me to the station. Is he good? Is his mother doing well?”

He looked at me for a while, remained silent, then asked, “Why are you asking about him particularly? Did Agastya Muni said something?”

“He didn’t say anything. The cart-man only said that his mother is not feeling well”

“Oh why are you asking that! He was ok all along. He joins political party and gives lose-talks. You see, that day, this guy (referring to the umbrella guy) went to the hilltop to lit up a lamp in the temple. This cart-man went along. None knows what happened. He fell down from the stairs in the hill and is injured with multiple fractures in his shoulders, hip, foot etc. and is admitted in the Puthur hospital!”

“Oh is it? Then?”

“The doctor said it will take around six months for him to recover. His relatives has decided to take him to Coimbatore”

“His mother?”

“She walks a bit nowadays. She has someone to take care of. The umbrella guy is the one who takes care of her. Oh yes, the cart-man said that it came in the Nadi that he is a heir to a zameendar. Is this true?”

I nodded.

“When the cartman said this that day, I was surprised but thought of it as a joke. Only now I believe it”

“If Karnam believes it, that’s good. Ok, where is that umbrella guy now?”

“Where will he go? He may be either in the temple premise. But he is not like before nowadays. He spends most of the time in the temple. He is pestering anyone he sees and asks them for oil or string and says he has to lit up lamp in the temple. He hasn’t gone mad, that’s all” – said Karnam.

I remained silent that provoked him.

“Why have you come all of a sudden? Do you have to stay in the temple in the night again? Is there any order that came?”

“No, I just came this side and thought I should visit you all”

“You didn’t bring the Nadi?”

“No, why?”

“I would like to know two things. One, the cart-man who was like a fit boxer, why should he remain in the bed with his bones broken? Another
thing, about three people who are almost counting their days, are
continuing hale and healthy. In fact, we made all arrangements thinking that the cart-man’s mother has passed away. Only in the burial ground did
we realize that she is still alive. There has never such an incident
before. I wanted to ask all these in the Nadi”

“What control do we have? It is all God’s play” – I bid farewell from him and went to climb up the hill. I have to meet the umbrella guy, but no one was to be seen. I could see symptoms of the priest having closed down the garbha gruha and had gone. I looked around only to find no one. Right at the place where I experienced the presence of Siddhas and Devas, the umbrella guy was lying down. He was in such a deep sleep that he did not notice my arrival. I looked inside the garbha gruya via the keyhole. There
were two lamps lit up in the garbha-gruha of the Swami! I did not feel like waking him up.

Now it may look like he is lying down even without wearing anything on top and with a dirty dhoti of about four feet. But soon, through the grace of the Lord of this Hill, Shiva, he is going to get a big fortune, my mind said.

I silently prayed to that Lord and turned around when I heard that sound. I looked around where a huge snake was crawling towards the umbrella guy!
