Life is full of ups and downs. Those who understands this does not worry about anything. Normally people expect that everything they wish for should happen instantly. If that does, they jump out of happiness. Else, they lose their peace and curse everyone in their heart. Such qualities are not only found in humans, but it is present in Devas, Gandarvas, Rishis and even the Grahas surprisingly.
Everyone scares about Shani. Even the Lord has hidden himself to escape from Shani they say. That Shani himself felt like he is possessed by Shani because of Kali. While Kali Purusha was yelling at him that he has betrayed Lord Brahma and did not keep up the promise he gave to Brahma, Shani was quietly looking at Kali with a smile. He asked:
“Kali! Are you done? Have you vented your anger? Can I speak now?” – he asked.
“Hmm..speak” – Kali signalled with his hands and turned his face away.
“Do you know that I do not fight with two. One is the devotees, the other one is Hanuman. Do you know this?”
“No” – nodded Shani.
“The true devotees doesn’t ask anything for themselves when they pray to the Lord. They only wish for the concept of total surrender. Such people, I will protect them even if they have committed a mistake knowingly or unknowingly. This Garuda is one such devotee. Hence I forgave him.”
“Had you told me this before, I wouldn’t have taken you here along. You betrayed me as well as Brahma. I won’t trust you hereafter.” – said Kali.
“Very well, Kali. It seems you are still angry. You have forgotten one thing though. If you will listen, I shall say. The world uses my name to denote anything done as evil. But even to myself, you did an evil thing.”
“You spoiled my happy married life first. My wife went away from me. I came with you just because of the word I gave to Brahma. Do you think anyone else would have come along?”
“What is the use of coming along? We could not separate those whom we wanted.”
“We should have hastened our action. I could have definitely done that.”
“Shanishwara! I won’t trust your sugar-talks. You have planned these well ahead and have done accordingly.”
“Why are you worrying? You are going to rule the earth. You are going to do all that you want. Dharma is going to get destroyed. Those who get together as couple will get separated immediately. The fetus will be killed while at womb. The temples will be looted.
There will be a strange new cult. That cult will try to destroy those who are trying a spiritual life. Lie will spread rapidly. The elders’ wisdom will be ignored. The brother will have anti-marital affair with his own brother’s wife. The farm land will be destroyed. The people will suffer due to scarcity of water. Even water has to be brought for money…” – while Shani was saying all these, Kali shouted, “stop, stop!” Shani was shocked.
“I am not ready to believe in all you say. This earth should come under my control. This Venkatava is blocking me from doing it. What can you do to control this Venkatava’s strength? We are not able to separate Garuda from him now. Tell me a way out of this before you can boast.” – said Shani. He referred to Shani with and without respect.
“Kali, I am witnessing the way your respect towards me is reducing. It’s alright. But let me tell you something. Without my help, you cannot do anything you want in this earth. Keep this in mind while you speak and speak with respect.” – Shani said angrily.
Kali did not expect this at all. He got scared.
“Please forgive me Shanishwara. I was worried as I am losing and because of Venkatava’s plays. I won’t speak like this ever again.”
“Forgiven you are! Let us think about reducing Venkatava’s strenght a little later. While you are at Tirumala, you cannot do this.”
“What else can be done then?”
“There are many ways. Leave them to me. You just need to do what I ask for. Then the Earth will be under your control. Don’t doubt that.”
“Can I trust you?”
“How? On what basis?”
“My wife is not going to return anytime soon. What will I do till then? I have to listen to you. Even I have to spend the time. I will work with you to “glorify” your name in the earth. Is this enough or should I give anymore assurances?”
“What if your wife comes back in between?”
“It won’t happen. Her 7.5 Shani period has started. In addition, I myself am standing in the Ashtama. If one goes through Ashtama Shani and 7.5 Shani together, do you know what happens? For her to come back, it will take around twelve thousand years as per Deva Loka’s time. We can turn this earth upside down within that time. Is this explanation enough?” – asked Shani.
“Enough, enough. I am very pleased. But if we leave Venkatava, it will be disastrous for us. Now Garuda and Venkatava are together again. We cannot separate them. What else can we do?”
“Kali. I have another name as well, it is Mandha. As I limp, my actions will be a bit slower. Let me think. I will somehow drive Venkatava out of this hill. But I have to act in a different way. I can bear it as well.” – said Shani.
Kali was pleased. He looked at Tirumala’s side and crushed his teeth with anger. Here, Venkatava was laughing to himself. Adi Sesha said, “O Lord, I have a request. May I?”
“Yes, of course.”
“I hear that Kali and Shani have joined together. While you are aware of it already, why are you allowing them to all these?”
“What do you want me to do?”
“Kali is spoiling the earth. Won’t he be subdued?”
“What happened to this Shani? Why is he joining hands with this Kali? Why aren’t you stopping him?”
“Well, do you want to say anything else?”
“Yes, please do not witness these quietly. Please allow me. I shall swallow this Kali and put an end to this atrocities.” – Sesha was furious. The Lord smiled within.
“O Lord. Why this silence? Did you hear all I said?”
“I did Sesha. Don’t you know that my silence has a meaning too? What is the assurance that you won’t change like how Garuda did?” – Lord Vishnu asked smilingly.
“O Lord! How can you doubt me? Will I ever do such a thing?” – Adi Sesha fell at his feet crying profusely.
“Don’t worry Sesha. I won’t forsake you. Neither will you forsake me. I said it just like that.” – said the Lord.
At the same time, Kali and Shani had devised a plan to bring Sesha to their clutches and were approaching his house in disguise. The Sesha was going to his house, unaware of these!
